Darling friends, It’s that extraordinary time of year again. The Women in the World Summit 2017 will be held April 5-7 in New York.
The best news is: you don’t have to buy tickets or travel to New York to attend.
The entire event is live streamed so you can watch it on your computer. Better yet, sync your computer with your telly and watch on the big screen.
I guarantee you, once you watch for a few minutes, you will want to watch the entire three day conference. It is riveting.
“The three-day Women in the World Summit, held at New York City’s Lincoln Center, presents powerful new female role models whose personal stories illuminate the most pressing international issues. They range from CEOs and world leaders to artists, activists, peacemakers, and firebrand dissidents. The Summit’s vivid journalistic narratives, high-impact video, and fast-paced staging have made it the premier platform to showcase women of impact. Increasingly, Women in the World also includes the participation, onstage and in the audience, of men who champion women.”
Watch even a few segments and you’ll be energized, motivated, outraged, inspired. And you will probably get involved in some new (to you), important causes and movements.
One year I flew to New York and attended in person. It’s just as inspiring and empowering to watch the live stream and become a part of this global event.
It’s what I do here in Tropica. I cancel my appointments and invite my friends. For three days, my living room becomes a theatre where we participate in the conference. We share meals, drinks and snacks and take the same breaks the conference attendees take.
Won’t you join me this year? Mark your calendar and drop in on your computer at http://nytlive.nytimes.com/womenintheworld/ Instructions for live streaming (meaning, you will press a button!) will be on that site.
We are the women in the world. Feel your power and glory.
P.S. One of my favorite New York Times columnists, Nicholas Kristof, will be interviewing Hillary Clinton. He’s going to ask what we all want to hear.
Hello my lovelies. Yes, I’m enthusiastic about this conference. It is so electric, that once you start watching, you can’t stop. It’s THAT good! I think it will be a quiet week for comments below, so do say hi, and tell us what you’re doing. If you have any questions for me that I might blog about, ask away, below. And if you enjoy being part of this savvy, stylish community of witty, intelligent, life loving women, enter your email in the box above so you don’t miss a thing.
