Wanting to please

On Sunday I was dipping into some of my fave internet reading and came across this excellent article that I desperately want to share with you. It’s a  3-minute read from The Pool. Wanting to be liked won’t earn you respect.

I have spent a lifetime wanting to be liked.  I have wanted to be considered a nice person, to be thought of as generous, to be a team player, to not ruffle feathers.  I don’t even want to fathom the cost of this to me, to my personal life and to my career.

And while we’re on the subject of an empowering women, here is the Number One emailed article in The New York Times at the moment.

I’m Too Old For This

Both articles were painful and illuminating for me.  Maybe for you too?

You’re welcome.

P.S.  A short post today because I’d rather you spend your time reading the articles instead of reading me!

Hello my lovelies!  Lots of quotables and tweetables in these two articles.  I’m  fired up about both of them.  Please share your thoughts! in the comments box.  Please feel free to like and share this post via the clever buttons below.  And if you haven’t already, enter your email so you won’t miss a thing.
